In his effort to make travelling more fun by Indian Railways, the Indian Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu inaugurated a semi-luxurious train on World Environment Day (5th June, 16).
The train is named as Tiger Express and it is an attempt to pull tourists towards MP’s Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Parks which are very popular for the tigers residing there.
The time period of the tour is 5 days & 6 nights and during this period, travelers will get to visit three Tiger Safaris in addition to beautiful Dhuadhar Waterfall which is situated in Bedhaghat, close to Jabalpur.
The tour package includes not just travelling on Indian Railways’ semi-luxury ‘Tiger Express’ but also the following:
- stay in AC rooms of three star hotels for 3 nights (1 night in Bhandavgarh & 2 nights in Kanha)
- sightseeing
- covering the road distance by AC cars
- meals (buffet)
- safaris
- insurance
- and travelling in the city
This is for the first time that a semi-luxury train has a dining car along with shower cubicles for its travelers.
The package for an AC 2-tier starts from Rs. 33, 500 and it goes up till Rs. 43, 500 while the package for AC first class is:
- Single – Rs 49,500
- Double – Rs 45,500
- Triple – Rs 44,900
- For a child and extra bed – Rs 39,500
The foreign citizens will need to pay Rs. 4000 more per person for their Safari booking at Kanha and Bandhavgarh National park.
