1. Julia Robert has converted her religion to Hinduism after acting in the movie ‘Eat, Pray Love’ which was shot in parts of India.
2. Richard Gere has converted from Christianity to Buddhism, and is practicing all the rituals of this religion and also is a vegetarian now.
3. British actor Orlando Bloom was born into the Anglican Church of England but in order to find peace, he started practicing Buddhism.
4. Sharmila Tagore fell in love with Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi who was a Muslim. She got converted to Islam and adopted a new name Begum Ayesha Sultana.
5. Katie Holmes converted to Scientology when she married Tom Cruise.
6. Madonna converted her religion from Christianity to Judaism and also took a Jewish name, Esther.
7. Nargis Dutt got converted from Islam to Hinduism after getting married to Sunil Dutt, she had actually changed her religion. Her Hindu name was Nirmala Dutt.
8. Amrita Singh, is originally a Sikh got converted to Islam for Saif Ali Khan’s love. However, it was believed after their divorce she took steps back to Sikhism again.
9. The news was never confirmed but Michael Jackson got converted into Islam after being inspired by his brother Jeremy a few years before his death.
