15 Things Mark Zuckerberg Quoted At IIT Delhi Townhall Session

Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg is in India these days. He was scheduled to interact with students and faculty of IIT Delhi at Townhall in Delhi. There was a Q&A session at Townhall where Facebook CEO asnwered the questions of some students.

Here are excerpts from Zuckerberg’s Townhall session at IIT Delhi:

1. There are 130 million Facebook users in India. Connecting people in India is one of the most important thing we want to do.

2. An ideal startup can only succeed when you focus on the impact of what you can do to change the world in positive manner.

3. India is the largest democracy in the world. It is one of the most important market for Facebook.

4. Products or companies big as Facebook or Apple are not built by one founder. It takes a lot of people to make a company big and successful.

5. No matter what you do you’ll make a ton of mistakes and I made a lot of mistakes. Don’t be afraid if you make mistakes, just try to work as good as you can.

6. Every company that has come up is because of the people who cared about to change the world and bring impact to people’s lives connected to it.

7. Online petitions can change the world and views in various ways. People cannot sign online petitions unless there is Internet access.

8. Internet.Org is an inititative to provide Internet access to people where there is no scope of internet. And we fully support Net Neutrality. We are also working with authorities on its regulations.

9. We are creating schools for poor in Africa and looks forward to setup same plan in India too.

10. When someone asked Mark about stop getting Candy Crush Requests. He smiled and answered “This is why such sessions are useful. We are working on it and soon you will get the results.

11. We want to build computers that are better than human senses that hear better and see better. We are working on a technology where a computer can describe photos to a blind person.

12. Virtual Reality is the future of technology and how you share photos and videos today are going to change with Virtual Reality.

13. With the help of Virtual Reality we would be able to put on a headset and travel the whole world in future.

14. There are more than 4 billion people in the world who don’t have Internet access. We want to provide Internet to every individual possible.

15. People think that we are trying to restrict the Internet. But since, providing free access to the whole internet is really costly. We are trying to provide basic internet to those who don’t have Internet privileges.

Finally he said, I never thought Facebook would be this big.
