Crimes against women are taking a horrible turn day by day and in another gruesome incident, a girl of 19 has been gangraped in a moving train. She belongs to Fazilka, Punjab, and cops revealed that the awful incident took place in Anand Vihar (New Delhi)-Ranchi Swarna Jayanti Express between Muri and Ranchi in Jharkhand.

On 6th February, she was traveling alone and there was no one in the coach before she was raped. It had such a traumatic effect on her mind that she wasn’t able to tell anybody at the convent where she lives. A couple of days after the incident, she tried to take her own life by consuming insecticide; however, she has been saved and is admitted in hospital.

Government Railway Police (GRP) is investigating the case and here’s what a GRP officer said,

“She said she was travelling in S-6 coach of the train and that two men raped her between Muri and Ranchi. The two men pulled the train and got down two stations before the train reached Ranchi at about 12 midnight.”

Her friends got to know about the rape only when she attempted suicide and filed a complaint at Ranchi’s Chutia police station on 15th February.

As per Sangeeta Tiwari, Ranchi SP (railway),

“A medical test on the girl has been conducted and the clothes she was wearing at the time of the incident have been sent for a forensic test. We have formed a special investigation team (SIT) to trace the culprits and nab them.”

There are 4 inspector-level officers in the SIT which is being led by a DSP.

Sources informed that she was in Ranchi for about 4 months and was learning sewing and stitching along with English language at the convent. She went to her home in Punjab and while returning from the vacation, the shocking incident took place.

Raghubar Das, the CM of Jharkhand, ordered cops for detaining the culprits and putting the case’s trial in a fast-track court.

He tweeted, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the brutal incident with a daughter. The government will provide her all possible medical help. The culprits will not be spared.”

Culprits should be behind the bar as soon as possible and strict laws should be made so that criminals think a thousand times before committing such appalling crimes.
