Most of us have heard about people’s fake profile and dummy accounts on various social networking sites. It has also led to a lot of unfortunate incidents and events which proved to be dreadful. Why does a person create a fake profile in the first place? What pleasure does it give them in fooling the world? Is this some kind of joke? Absolutely not! It is a crime instead.
People fail to understand that the results of such forgery can be dangerous and hurtful. Not just emotionally but also otherwise. This time it is about a guy named Amit Yadav, a software engineer from Indore who pretended to be a girl on Facebook using a profile in the name of ‘Priyanshi’.
24-year-old Amit had added a girl named Priya on his fake profile to become friends. In the illusion of Amit being a girl, Priya became great friends and had also share personal details like residential address and her mother’s contact number. Almost after a year of his increasing interest in Priya, Amit revealed his real identity to her. This made her so upset that she not only unfriended him but also blocked him on Facebook.
Angry with Priya’s reaction Amit reached her address and attacked her mother. The poor 16-year-old girl tried to intervene and stop him from harming her mother. However, Amit slashed Priya repeatedly which led to her death.
Priya’s mother was rushed to the hospital for treatment. After his shameful act, Amit also tried to commit suicide by jumping off the second-storey flat but failed. This is indeed a scary picture of the virtual world that we thought would connect us to true friends.
