On 19th of October, PEMRA i.e the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority imposed a ban on Indian content. Yes, this ban was immediately applicable from the 21st of October; this was because Pakistani content was banned in India and what could be a better response than this.
This further fumed the rising tensions between both the nations. Different people had different takes on this and so did veteran actor Rishi Kapoor.
We all know that the actor is quite active on Twitter and shares frank opinions on every serious issue. Even in relation to this matter, Chintuji had something to say. He said that this step is meaningless because in spite of the ban, people will watch their favorite stuff, of course through illegal means. He definitely had a very valid point, isn’t it?
If people want to watch a particular movie and if it is banned, they will obviously resort to illegal DVDs. He left a series of tweets; here they are…
Zara bandh karke dikha!
Think. PEMRA(Pakistan) Bandh karwaya Indian content Apne channels Aur theatres mein! Zara bandh kar ke dikha illegal DVD's Indian films ke?

Just chill!
PEMRA Jhagda siyasati Aur politicians ka hai. Dil ki baaton par pabandiyan laga Na galat hai. Hamara bhi jhagda Ye hi hai yahaan. Just chill

Why punish them ?
PEMRA. Pakistan has around 85/100 multiplexes and if they don't have content to exhibit think how much of loss incurred? Why punish them?

Jara Sochna!
PEMRA. Can understand your knee jerk reaction of banning Indian content.But asliyat to Ye hai dono mulk illegally dekh rahe hain. Sochna lol

This was bang-on and even Pakistanis would agree to this! Soon, Pakistanis started responding to these tweets; have a look…
I love PC and Deepika!

However, there was one user who said that PEMRA is strict; on that Chintuji had the best response…
Then after seeing the responses of Pakistanis, Rishiji tweeted back to them and thanked them for their support;
This should be the spirit my dear India and Pakistan. We are beyond political barriers and controls. Love you all ❤️️ https://t.co/RxXMVTMaBD
