Finally, after months of wait, video calling has been officially launched by WhatsApp; yes, you heard that right! Now, this feature is available to Windows, iPhone and Android users.
However, there are chances that the video calling might not work or might give an error. In such cases, you need to download the APK file of WhatsApp beta version.

Go to Google Play and search WhatsApp!

Go to the Google Play listing of WhatsApp!

When you scroll to the bottom, you will find an option “Become a beta tester”

Click on I’M IN

Now, after coming back to the Google Play listing page, click on Update WhatsApp to beta version.
Although there are several other ways of getting this version, the steps mentioned above are official and we recommend the users to use only this method. Moreover, it is also recommended to wait for WhatsApp to show the video calling feature, because if people download the APK version, the server load might become unmanageable.
WhatsApp’s declaration reads;
“We’re introducing this feature because we know that sometimes voice and text just aren’t enough. There’s no substitute for watching your grandchild take her first steps, or seeing your daughter’s face while she’s studying abroad. And we want to make these features available to everyone, not just those who can afford the most expensive new phones or live in countries with the best cellular networks.
Over the years we’ve received many requests from our users for video calling, and we’re excited to finally offer this feature to the world. Thank you for using WhatsApp and we promise to keep working hard every day to improve the service.”
Making video calls is easy; it has to be done just like voice calling. When you tap on “Call”, you get 2 options “Video calling” and “Voice calling”. It is as simple as that !
