Toilet: Ek Prem Katha Is Surrounded By Controversies! Saints Declare 1 Cr Reward For Director’s Tongue!

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” is eagerly awaited; but wait, there is some sad news already. The movie has been surrounded by controversies even before the release. Aren’t you wondering as to what has happened in spite of everything going so smoothly?

Well, the saints of Mathura are too upset with the makers. Reason? The movie has shown a marriage between a boy and girl, from Nandgaon and Barsana respectively, which hasn’t gone down well with them.

This is not it! In the Mahapanchayat that was held on Monday, there were discussions about cutting the tongue of the director. Yes, they discussed that whoever does so, will get a cash prize of Rs 1 crore, isn’t that strange? I am sure you want to know the reason behind it….

In this address, Phooldol Behari Dass Maharaj asked the producer of the movie to remove that scene else, they won’t allow them to continue with the shoot.

Since years, there has been a trend that a girl or boy from Barsana cannot marry the one, who hails from Nandgaon. This is because one village is considered to be of Lord Krishna, and the other one is believed to be that of Radha. By depicting this marriage between 2 villages, the saints claim that the makers have hurt the sentiments of villages.

The Mahapanchayat was attended by 6 heads of the village, saints and local residents. Seeing this growing anger, the director said that this particular scene would not be shown.

Mahamandleshwar Nawal Giri Maharaj another saint suggested that the title of the film must be changed, as it is not looking apt. He suggested it must be changed to “Toilet – A Swachhta Abhiyan”

Yet another religious leader Mahant Haribol Maharaj criticised the film’s makers for using the land where Radha and Lord Krishna dwelt for a movie having such a title.

“We would not allow shooting if the title is not changed,” the mahant warned.

Later in the day, Shree Narayan Singh, the director of the movie, addressed the press and rubbished allegations.

He said;

“We are shooting scenes in Nandgaon and Barsana but every doubt would be cleared with release of movie as nowhere the name of Nandgaon has been used in it. The movie is on women’s empowerment and ‘Swachhta’ and Barsana is chosen for communicating this message through ‘lath-maar’ Holi since Mughal period,”

So guys, what’s your opinion on this? Do you think, the film will face more troubles? Do share your views in our comments section below…
