OMG! Arijit Singh Opens Up On His Retirement & 2016 May Be His Last Year In Bollywood

There is absolutely no denying the fact that the “Kabira” singer has given Bollywood a number of chartbuster songs which will always be played and sung whenever it comes to romantic and emotional songs. At one fell swoop, it won’t be wrong to call him a legend in the genre of romantic numbers which touch every soul and leave a deep impact that no one can resist.

For many years, he has been entertaining fans with his soulful hits; however, he left everyone shocked when he posted an apology on Facebook for the Bollywood actor Salman Khan and requested him to forgive him for what happened (the issue remained unclear) and not to remove his song “Jag Ghoomeya” from Sultan. However, the song was later released in the voice of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and the matter could not be unveiled deeper.

And once again, the “Tum Hi Ho” singer has shocked his fans and it’s perhaps the biggest shock ever from him! When Singh is at his singing career’s zenith, he has got the feeling of retirement in 2016 only! Shocking, isn’t it? Naturally, this statement from Arijit has come as a bolt from the blue:

“I don’t think I have a long way to go. This might be my last year.”

The 29-yr singer disclosed while interacting with an entertainment portal that he might not survive in the industry for long in view of the fact that fresh and new voices take the place of old singers every 5-7 years and considering the same, he is perhaps walking the last path of his career in B-Town. He further added that there is just one way to sustain here and that is singing one particular genre’s songs.

In his words,

“Normally, fresh voices replace (current vocalists) every five to seven years in Bollywood. If I work really hard on specific genres, I might be able to stay longer. That way, I can emerge as the only singer who can croon songs of those genres. Maybe that’s how I will survive.”

Even though such a statement on the part of Arijit might sadden his fans, if we deeply analyze the same, we will get to realize that he is actually not at all wrong. For instance, Mohit Chauhan was once a favorite of all the producers and gave many hit songs; however, as of present, his career is not the same or in fact almost finished.

Nevertheless, we can’t ignore the essential fact that Singh very well knows how to survive in the industry over the years. Prior to big playback break with Murder’s “Phir Mohabbat” in the year 2011, he served as an assistant for 6 long yrs to great composers including Pritam and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

Hence, we can expect that even if his singing career gets ended, he would come up with something superb to entertain fans. As per the singer, he’s grateful to his fans for affection and love they showered on him; however, at the same time, he expects fans to understand the idea that he’s, in reality, a shy individual who doesn’t like to interact much and loves to lead a silent lifestyle!
