Like many fans, A Taiwanese lady bought a brand new iPhone Plus recently. Of course, she would be dying with happiness and excitement but it didn’t last long.

According to local media, she said that the split occurred due to the swollen battery soon after she put it on charge. She was reportedly using the correct Apple supplied charger cable and adaptor at the time of the incident. The phone was the 64 GB Gold variant and Reportedly, Apple is currently examining it.

Apparently the iPhone 8 Plus’ battery was manufactured by Amperex Technology Limited- the same company that made the batteries of Galaxy Note 7.
