MS Dhoni received immense criticism after New Zealand beat India by 40 runs in the 2nd T-20 match in Rajkot. Some people reacted crazily; they even asked selectors to replace Dhoni. Some said that Dhoni should retire now as he is not able to play well.
Do you think Dhoni deserves such a treatment? At many occasions, he has made India proud by displaying a great performance.
He has even got the title of “Best finisher”. If his performance in one match isn’t good, does this mean he should stop playing? Well, this thinking is so very wrong.
Many journalists had questions about Dhoni’s slow performance. One of them asked this question to Bhuvneshwar Kumar during a press conference. Instead of listening calmly, Bhuvi gave a mouth-shutting reply.
Bhuvi literally slammed the critics and made his point clear that “Dhoni is playing well for Indian team and needs no replacement.”
He said,
“If you look at his record, nobody (team management) is really bothered. Whatever he has done, he has been doing well, he knows he is a legend. Whatever he is doing, it is benefitting the Indian team. No one has any doubts about him”
We surely agree with Bhuvaneshwar Kumar here. He has taken Dhoni’s side and we love him for that. Time and again, Dhoni has proved himself and if luck didn’t favor him in that match, it’s not a big deal.
