Pakistan is known for producing good pacers but it has also given some really good spinners and Saeed Ajmal is one of them. Playing for the country is a dream of every cricketer and the same was with Saeed Ajmal as well but recently he made a shocking revelation as per which he was told that his debut match would be his last match as well.

Saeed Ajmal made his ODI debut in 2008 while for T20I and test debut, he had to wait for one year. He represented Pakistan in 35 test matches, 113 ODIs and 64 T20Is in which he took 178, 184 and 85 wickets, respectively. His debut was a tough one as he played his first ODI against India in July 2008 in the Asia Cup.

During an interview, Saeed Ajmal said that his first match was against India and the whole world watched that match. He further said that before his debut, he was told that his first match can also be his last match as it was said that if he performed well, he would continue to play but if he didn’t, he would not play further.

Saeed Ajmal said that during the match, he had cramps in the first 10 overs of the game, Misbah-ul-Haq was the skipper at that time and he told Ajmal that he had to bowl in the powerplays. Ajmal said that he asked Misbah to give him overs at that time so that he could leave as he was having cramps and in reply, Misbah asked what he was saying, adding that he would give him overs in the end.

Saeed Ajmal said that he had more cramps, he bowled well in 5 overs and even if he didn’t bowl any doosra but he contained runs. Later on, he returned after bandages and then bowled 3-4 overs more. He added that there was a lot of pressure from crowd and media but he faced everything and bowled his final over and it was really fun.

Saeed Ajmal ended his debut match with the figures of 1/47 in 10 overs as he dismissed Yusuf Pathan and India lost the match by 8 wickets.
