Vijay, admired for his versatility in films like Arjun Reddy and Kingdom, has become one of the most bankable stars in the South. Rashmika, often called the “National Crush”, has charmed audiences across languages with her warmth and effortless screen presence. Over the years, their on-screen chemistry sparked off-screen rumours and now it seems that those whispers have turned into reality.
According to reports, the much-loved stars recently got engaged in a private ceremony attended only by close family and friends. Though neither Vijay nor Rashmika has chosen to confirm the news publicly, a report from a local news channel suggests that the engagement was a quiet affair, very much in line with their desire to keep personal milestones away from the public eye. The couple is now said to be planning a wedding in February 2026, a piece of news that has left fans thrilled.
Adding fuel to the excitement, Rashmika’s Dussehra post on Instagram created quite a stir. Dressed in a traditional saree with a tilak on her forehead, she looked radiant and many fans speculated the pictures might be from her engagement.
Sharing her wishes, she wrote, “Happy Dussehra my loves… This year, I’m feeling extra grateful because of all the love you’ve been showering on the Thamma trailer and our song… Your messages, your excitement, your constant support you make every moment bigger and happier for me And I can’t wait to see you all super sooooon during the promotions…(sic).” Within moments, congratulatory messages poured in, with admirers convinced there was more to celebrate than just the festival.

Last year, when Rashmika was asked if she would marry someone from the industry, she had playfully replied, “Everyone knows about it”, a comment that drew laughter from Allu Arjun and the audience.
Despite numerous vacation sightings and endless speculation, both the actors have carefully guarded their privacy. Now, with reports of their engagement and a wedding on the horizon, fans are eagerly waiting for the couple to make things official.
On the work front, Rashmika is preparing for the release of Aditya Sarpotdar’s horror-comedy Thamma with Ayushmann Khurrana, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal, scheduled for October 21, 2025. She has also completed Cocktail 2 alongside Kriti Sanon. Vijay, meanwhile, continues to win praise for his performance in Gowtam Tinnanuri’s spy thriller Kingdom (2025).
