Deepika Padukone seems to be choosing her projects very carefully these days and that includes saying no to big international opportunities as well.

According to a report by a famous magazine, the Bollywood star was approached for Season 4 of The White Lotus. The makers were reportedly interested in bringing her on board and asked her to audition. However, Deepika Padukone declined to go through the audition process, which ultimately led to the opportunity slipping away.
As per a source quoted by the portal, auditions are a compulsory part of the casting process for The White Lotus. The team behind the show prefers to audition actors before finalising them. However, Deepika was not comfortable auditioning and that became the main reason she did not move forward with the project.
This isn’t the first time she has been linked to the popular series. The makers had earlier approached her for Season 3 as well. At that time, Deepika was pregnant and chose to turn down the offer.

If she had signed Season 4, it would have marked her return to Hollywood after her debut in xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017), where she starred alongside Vin Diesel, Donnie Yen, Ruby Rose, Tony Jaa, Nina Dobrev and Toni Collette.
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone has also stepped away from other big projects. Last year, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD announced that she would not be part of the sequel, Kalki 2. In an official statement, the team said that after careful consideration, they decided to part ways, adding that a film of that scale requires complete commitment.

Earlier, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga reportedly removed Deepika Padukone from Spirit. Reports suggested that her professional demands, including an eight-hour workday, a high fee and a share in profits, did not align with the director’s expectations. Triptii Dimri was later confirmed for the film.
Now a new mother, Deepika is reportedly focusing on balancing her personal and professional life, even if that means letting go of high-profile projects.
