For years, MS Dhoni has been known as one of the calmest and most respected leaders in cricket. The former India captain rarely reacts to controversies and almost never speaks publicly about criticism. But a fresh revelation has now brought his name back into an old debate.
Former India cricketer and chief selector Sandeep Patil recently shared an interesting detail about the long-discussed issue involving Yuvraj Singh. For years, Yuvraj’s father Yograj Singh has openly accused Dhoni of ruining his son’s international career, suggesting that tensions existed between the two cricketers.
However, Sandeep Patil says that from what he witnessed during his time leading India’s selection committee, the situation was very different. Speaking on a YouTube channel, Sandeep Patil explained that during selection meetings, tours or even match discussions, Dhoni never once asked the selectors to remove Yuvraj from the team.
According to Sandeep Patil, MS Dhoni trusted the selection committee completely and did not interfere with their decisions regarding players.
Over the years, Yograj Singh has been vocal and emotional when talking about his son’s career. Sandeep Patil believes this reaction is understandable from a father’s point of view but he feels the criticism directed at Dhoni may not be accurate. In Sandeep Patil’s opinion, the frustration likely came from a father’s deep concern for his son rather than any real conflict between the two Indian cricket stars.
Let’s see how Yograj Singh will react to this revelation.
