1. One8: from Puma label to Agilitas
One8 started in 2017 as an athleisure line launched with Puma, under the endorsement deal Puma signed with Kohli that year. That deal was valued at around Rs 110 crore over eight years, as reported by Business Today and Storyboard18, and it was widely described as the first Rs 100 crore endorsement for an Indian athlete.
The name comes from Kohli’s jersey number, 18. Over the years One8 grew to cover clothing, footwear and other products, and the name was also used for his restaurant chain.
In December 2025, Kohli moved the One8 brand to Agilitas Sports, a Bengaluru sportswear company founded in 2023 by Abhishek Ganguly, a former managing director of Puma India. As reported by Storyboard18, this ended his eight-year Puma contract, even though talks on a renewal had reportedly been under way.
Key point: One8 is now run as a separate premium sports brand inside Agilitas, with Kohli as an investor and co-founder of the brand.
2. Virat Kohli’s stake in Agilitas Sports
Along with handing over One8, Kohli put Rs 40 crore into Agilitas. Outlook Business reported that company filings show a stake of 1.94% held through compulsorily convertible preference shares, though some media reports had put it higher.
Business Today later explained that viral social media posts saying Kohli “sold One8 for Rs 40 crore” were misleading. The Rs 40 crore was his investment into the company, and no separate price for the One8 brand has been made public.
The deal also comes with an exclusive endorsement. As reported by Moneycontrol and cited by Storyboard18, Kohli cannot promote any other sportswear brand while the arrangement lasts.
Agilitas itself has been expanding. It owns footwear maker Mochiko Shoes, which makes shoes for global sports brands, and holds the licence for Italian brand Lotto in India, Australia and South Africa.
3. Wrogn and Universal Sportsbiz
Wrogn is a men’s casual wear label that Kohli launched with Anjana Reddy’s Universal Sportsbiz (USPL). It sells online and through stores, and is one of the better-known cricketer-backed fashion labels in India.
In 2020, Kohli invested Rs 19.3 crore in Universal Sportsbiz itself, as reported by Inc42 and YourStory. The investment was routed through Cornerstone Sports, the firm that manages him. This made him a shareholder in the parent company and not just the face of one of its labels.
4. One8 Commune and Nueva restaurants
Kohli entered the food business in 2017. One8 Commune is a chain of restaurant bars that started in Delhi and later opened outlets in other cities. It was his first food and beverage venture.
The same year he also backed Nueva, a South American themed fine dining restaurant in New Delhi.

5. Digit Insurance
In early 2020, Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma invested Rs 2.5 crore in Go Digit General Insurance, according to Inc42 and YourStory. YourStory reported that the couple held about 0.25% of the company at the time.
Digit listed on the Indian stock exchanges in May 2024. The listing made this one of the most discussed celebrity investments in Indian startups, since the couple had come in at a much earlier stage.
6. Startup investments: Rage Coffee, Blue Tribe, MPL and more
Kohli has also made a number of smaller bets in consumer and tech startups. In most cases the amount was not disclosed.
- Sport Convo: A London-based app linking athletes and fans. Reported as his first startup investment, in 2014.
- Galactus Funware Technology: The company behind Mobile Premier League (MPL). Kohli invested Rs 33.42 lakh through debentures in early 2019 and was named MPL’s brand ambassador that year.
- Hyperice: A US recovery and wellness equipment brand. He joined as an athlete investor and ambassador in 2021.
- Rage Coffee: A Delhi-based D2C coffee brand founded by Bharat Sethi. Kohli invested an undisclosed amount and became its brand ambassador.
- Blue Tribe: A plant-based meat startup in which Kohli and Anushka Sharma invested together.
7. Chisel fitness and Stepathlon Kids
Kohli launched Chisel, a chain of gyms and fitness centres, as a joint venture with Chisel India and Cornerstone Sport and Entertainment. No investment figure has been confirmed by the company, so it is not given here.
In 2016 he helped launch Stepathlon Kids, a programme aimed at getting children to be more active.
8. Sports teams Virat Kohli co-owns
Kohli has also put money into sports teams outside cricket.
- FC Goa: Co-owner of the Indian Super League football club.
- UAE Royals: Co-owner of this team in the International Premier Tennis League.
- Bengaluru Yodhas: Co-owner of this franchise in the Pro Wrestling League.

Virat Kohli’s brand endorsements
Kohli has been one of India’s most sought-after faces in advertising for over a decade. Brands he has been associated with over the years include:
- Puma: 2017 to 2025, now replaced by Agilitas and One8.
- MRF: His long-running bat sponsor.
- Vivo: Named brand ambassador in April 2021.
- Philips and Remit2India: Earlier deals reported by SportBusiness.
- MPL, Hyperice and Rage Coffee: Where he is also an investor.
Endorsement lists change often, so a brand that used him in the past may not have a current contract. Back in 2017, Kohli said he would only promote products he uses himself.
What is Virat Kohli’s brand value?
According to Kroll’s celebrity brand valuation study for 2024, published in September 2025, Kohli was India’s most valuable celebrity brand at USD 231.1 million. Ranveer Singh was second at USD 170.7 million and Shah Rukh Khan third at USD 145.7 million.
His appeal has held up even after retiring from two formats. He still plays ODIs, where he recently reached 15,000 runs, and won back-to-back IPL titles with RCB in 2025 and 2026. Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers has even said the 2026 version of Kohli is better than the 2016 one. His run of ODI hundreds is tracked in our list of most centuries in ODI cricket.
