The superstar Aamir Khan’s last release Laal Singh Chaddha was not able to perform well at the box-office and after the movie’s failure, he took a break from acting.
While fans are hoping to see him soon in a movie, it seems that he is not interested in acting anymore. He has taken retirement from acting and now he will focus on producing movies as he wants to provide a platform to new actors, writers, directors, etc.
“Laapataa Ladies” was produced by Aamir Khan and it was directed by his ex-wife Kiran Rao, though the movie failed at the box-office, it was loved by the audiences when it got released on OTT.
Recently a special screening of “Laapataa Ladies” was organized for the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, it was organized under the gender sensitisation program and few other judges of Supreme Court also attended the special screening.
Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Kiran Rao was also attended the event and while having a conversation with the CJI, Aamir Khan revealed that he decided to produce the film out of fear and desire. He further talked about his career and said that during COVID-19, he was 56 yrs old and at that time he thought that he was at the last phase of his career and he would be able to work for maximum 15 years more. He added that he has got so much from the country and the society and he wants to give it back.
Aamir Khan thought that as an actor, he will be able to do only one movie in a year but as a producer, he will be able to support multiple stories which he likes and feels connected with.
Aamir Khan said that “Laapataa Ladies” was his first step in this direction and as a producer, he will provide a platform to the new writers, directors and everyone else who is involved in moviemaking. He added that he wants to promote new talent and produce 4-5 movies every year.
