At Box Office, Bollywood is picking up the speed rapidly but it’s Hollywood which is already in the top gear. The biggest entertainment industry of the world has given many Blockbusters which earned thousands of crores at Box Office in just a weekend. While we have just started boasting about 1000-2000 crores lifetime.
Latest Hollywood release “It” which is a horror film has struck the right chord with the audience and is now proving to be yet another record breaker at Box Office.
The film in its opening weekend earned $123,403,419 (Rs 789.62 crores) which makes it 27th highest opening weekend of All Time and 3rd Highest opening weekend of this year so far.
With this much money in the weekend, the film has broken the record of big films like Spider-Man: Homecoming, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, The Jungle Book (2016), Wonder Woman and even The Fate of the Furious.
The trend of the film has been discouraging though as the film dropped heavily after the opening day.
It had earned $50,425,786 (Rs 322.66 crores) on its first day. On Saturday the collections dropped and it earned $44,986,221 (287.85 crores). On Sunday the collections dropped further and the film managed just $27,991.412 (Rs 179.11 crores). The Friday-Sunday drop was already huge and the collections again crashed on Monday.
“It” could earn just $8,761,479 (Rs 56.06 crores) on Monday. No doubt the 4 day total collections are still fine but going ahead the film will find really difficult.
