It has been only one week when the incident of mass copying took place, bringing shame and disgrace to the whole state of Bihar. And here is one more shocking news which hails from the same state, i.e., more than 1,000 persons got under arrest because they were found impersonating in constable recruitment exam. In the previous year as well, 150 candidates got detained for the same.
There was an ad from the govt. regarding the recruitment of constables and the number of posts was 11,783. Out of these, there was a reservation of 35% posts for women applicants. Bihar Central Selection Board for Constables carried out the written examination in which nearly 52,000 candidates qualified and got an opportunity to appear in physical fitness test (PFT) as well as documents verification.
In the words of a senior police officer who was involved in the procedure of recruiting, “It was during the verification of documents that 1,068 candidates were found to be impersonating. They were arrested and sent to jail.”
As many as 200 impersonators had been recognized when screening test plus PFT were held finally. “Their fake identity was detected when they produced fake documents.”
He also added, “In many cases, the candidates had manipulated photos on the form and the documents. A close and intense scrutiny of them finally led to the revelation.”
