Ashwin Takes A Dig At Tim Paine & Critics Of Team India As India Defeats Aussies At Gabba

The Australian cricketers and cricket fans must be heartbroken today as they lost the four match test series to India by 2-1 and they have also tasted their first defeat at Gabba since 1988. Tim Paine, the skipper of Australian side, now holds a record which he will never like to remember, the record of being the first Aussie captain who lost two home series against India.

The Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin may not have been able to play the fourth and final test match but he certainly knows how to play with emotions on Twitter as he took a jibe at Tim Paine in a perfect manner. Ashwin apologized for not being able to play at Gabba but thanked for hosting the Indians and for playing some hard cricket in the tough times. Ashwin tagged Tim Paine and Cricket Australia in his tweet which he made soon after the match got over and at the same time also mentioned that the Indians will always remember the series.

Ashwin wrote, “Good evening from Gabba!! I am sorry I couldn’t play here but thanks for hosting us and playing some hard cricket during these tough times. We will remember this series forever! @tdpaine36 @CricketAus”

Ashwin was in no mood to stop as in the next tweet, he targeted few former Aussie players along with Michael Vaughan who claimed that India would certainly lose the series especially because the Indian skipper Virat Kohli was not a part of the squad for the last three test matches.

He posted the screenshot of the statements made by the former Aussie cricketers and Michael Vaughan along with the photo of the winning team.

The caption on Ashwin’s tweet read,

“LHS ( not = ) RHS !

Yours happily

India tour of OZ 2020/21

Humbled by all the love and support we have received over the last 4 weeks!”

In the third test match which was played at Sydney, Ashwin and Tim Paine got involved in a verbal spat as the Aussies were frustrated after not being able to take the wickets of R Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari. Both the Indian batsmen played 259 balls together for saving the test match which ended in a draw. On the fifth day of the third test match, Tim Paine got annoyed and told Ashwin that he was waiting for him to come to Gabba. In response, Ashwin said that he was waiting for him to come to India which would be his last series and after this, Tim Paine used an abusive word for Ashwin.

R Ashwin’s wife Prithi Ashwin also used this moment to troll Tim Paine as she tweeted, “SEE YOU AT THE GABBA MATE.”

This is certainly one of the greatest test wins for the Indian team and in this series, the Indian cricketers have shown that matches can be won without big names as well.

Congratulations team India! A big round of applause for all the Indian cricketers!
