Making her debut with the movie Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! in 2008 and then with her flawless performance in Gangs Of Wasseypur (Both parts), she was praised for her performance by about everyone and for which she was awarded with Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress.
She was born in Amritsar, Punjab on 28 December 1988 and has been able to get roles in many movies and videos including some major ones like Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Benny and Babloo, Gangs of Wasseypur (both parts), Fukrey, Shorts, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Masaan, Main Aur Charles and she’s working on Cabaret, her upcoming movie in 2016. She has been nominated for her awesome performance in Gangs of Wasseypur, Fukrey and also in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013 and 2014.
