Salman Khan was sentenced imprisonment of 5 years along with a fine of Rs. 10,000 as he was convicted by the Jodhpur court that acquitted all other accused in 20 years old blackbuck poaching case.
He was sent to Jodhpur Central jail and needless to say, his arrest created havoc on social media. While some supported the court’s verdict and called it justice delayed but justice not denied, there are many others who think that he should be fined a whopping amount instead of imprisonment as he always helps the needy and has saved many lives.
His lawyers applied for the bail the very next day of the judgment but the superstar had to spend two nights in the Jodhpur Central jail. It’s being said that he was not given any VIP treatment and his identification inside the jail was Prisoner no. 106. Other than his sisters, his colleague Preity Zinta also came to meet him in the jail while many Bollywood celebs comforted his family in Mumbai.
There was a twist in the case when suddenly 87 judges in Rajasthan got transferred including the one who was hearing Salman’s bail plea. Earlier there was confusion whether the hearing will take place today or not but the judge decided to hear the case.
And finally verdict has been announced.
