On Tuesday, a dog was put to death by hanging it on an electric post in a village in Kannur. Actually, the dog was hanged to mark the first death anniversary of an RSS leader.
E Manoj (42), who was an RSS district level leader died on September 1, 2014 when killers threw bomb at his Omni van, he was driving the van himself which lost the balance and knocked an electric post. The incident happened in Kathiroor, a village in Kannur.
To mark Manoj’s first death anniversary, the dog was hanged from the same electric post with which the van collided last year. The situation in Kannur is tense from the past few days as there have been attacking incidents which involved CPI (M) and BJP. Police was already alert and they have kept Kathiroor and nearby areas under its vigilance to prevent any mishappening on the death anniversary of RSS leader.
E Manoj was accused in case of attempt to murder of P Jayarajan, a CPI (M) leader; this case dates back to 1999. The investigation of E Manoj is being carried out by CBI and they have already talked to Jayarajan regarding the matter.
Isn’t it cruelty to hang an innocent animal for marking death anniversary? What was the fault of dog which was hanged and that too for doing nothing wrong?
