Don’t Call Them, Call 100: Mumbai Police Warns Citizen To Beware Of Momo Challenge

Just when we thought that the fatal Blue whale challenge came under the control, the worldwide Internet has been hit by a new one and it’s called Momo challenge.

No, it’s not about eating unlimited momos or something like that. It’s yet another life-threatening trend which is kil*ing people through social media and WhatsApp.

It starts with people getting a WhatsApp message of a creepy doll from an unknown number which is said to be linked to three numbers in Japan, Mexico, and Columbia. The message tells you to call on the unknown number and that’s where it all starts.

The persons involved with the number starts receiving orders to perform some weird and vio**nt tasks. As they go on to perform all the tasks, at last they are told to su**ide. If the users tell them that they won’t perform the tasks, they are threatened by the person operating the whole thing.

Earlier this month, a de*th of a 12-year-old girl in Argentina was reported due to this challenge and now like other countries, even India is at risk.

Mumbai Police has taken a strong step against it as they issued an alert on Twitter in their own quirky way. Mumbai Police tweeted-

Food For Thought- How about interacting with us on the widely know #Dial100 than on unknown numbers, to beat the challengers in their own game! #NoNoMoMo #MomoChallenge
