Ekta’s Weird Comment On Fuel Price Hike Invited Criticism, Got Hilariously Trolled On Twitter

The constantly increasing prices of petrol and diesel have created an alarming situation and the whole country is worried about the fuel price hike. Recently we saw how Amul took a jibe at the government in its latest cartoon and social media is also flooded with comments in this connection.

Various celebs like Farhan Akhtar have expressed views regarding this and lately the TV serial queen Ekta Kapoor also commented on the matter at the music launch event of “Veere Di Wedding”.

When a journo asked her views over fuel price hike, instead of concentrating on the real burning issue, she thought it more necessary to promote her movie in any manner, whether it sounds sensible or not!

Here’s what Ekta said about the rising petrol prices,

“Even if petrol prices are at its highest, men will take women for drives & in today’s time, women will take men for drives. This isn’t the movie that you’re going to stop watching as at this time you need to spend less on driving & more in theatre.”

Twitter just couldn’t digest her remark which in turn meant that people should go to watch her movie in the theatre instead of going for a long drive.

Netizens trolled Ekta Kapoor mercilessly for her ambiguous or rather selfish comment. Check out some selected reactions:
