The Indian movie industry is one of the biggest industries of the world and every year around 1500-2000 movies are made in 20 languages but still there are many actors who want to work in Hollywood movies.
While Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, etc. have worked in Hollywood flicks, there have been times when other actors have been approached for a role in a Hollywood movie but they have to refuse it because of different reasons.
1. Akshay Kumar:
The Khiladi Kumar of Bollywood is one of the most famous and successful actors of the industry. He started as an action hero and it is being said that last year, he was offered a Hollywood movie in which he would have starred alongside Dwayne Johnson (The Rock). As per the reports, it was an action movie but Akshay Kumar rejected it because he didn’t find his role strong enough in comparison to the role of Dwayne Johnson.
2. Shah Rukh Khan:
The King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan was offered a role in “Slumdog Millionaire” but he refused it. He was asked to play the role of KBC host in the movie and the character had negative shades. SRK didn’t do it because at that time, he was the host of KBC in reality as Amitabh Bachchan was not well. Later that role was played by actor Anil Kapoor and there is no denying that he portrayed the character to the perfection.
3. Ronit Roy:
The famous actor Ronit Roy was also offered a role in a Hollywood movie entitled “Zero Dark Thirty” but he had to refuse it as he was shooting for “Student of the Year”.
4. Hrithik Roshan:
Hrithik Roshan’s looks and appearance certainly make him a perfect candidate for working in Hollywood and once he was offered a role in “Pink Panther 2”. However, he had to refuse the role as he was busy with Bollywood commitments.
5. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan:
The former Miss World has acted in few Hollywood movies but there has been an instance in which she has rejected a role in a Hollywood movie. Aishwarya refused to play a role in “Troy” which starred Brad Pitt in the lead role because of the intimate scenes with the actor.
6. Katrina Kaif:
The beautiful actress Katrina Kaif admitted in an interview recently that she was offered a Hollywood flick but she had to refuse it due to some personal reasons. However, she is hopeful that she will get a chance to work in Hollywood in the future. As per the reports, Katrina is said to be pregnant at present and currently she is in London.
7. Irrfan Khan:
Irrfan Khan was certainly one of the best actors we have seen in movies and he also displayed his talent at the international level by working in Hollywood movies. However, he had to refuse a role in Hollywood movie “Interstellar” because of his commitments in Bollywood. Later that role was played by Matt Damon and in an interview, Irrfan Khan stated that refusing Christopher Nolan (director of Interstellar) was one of the toughest choices that he had made in his life.
8. Deepika Padukone:
Deepika Padukone has also worked in a Hollywood movie “XXX: Return of Xander Cage” in which she worked with Vin Diesel but she had to refuse “Fast and Furious 7” which starred Dwayne Johnson and Paul Walker because at that time, she was shooting for Hindi movie, “Happy New Year”. Deepika Padukone is pregnant and she and her hubby Ranveer Singh are expecting a baby in September.
