Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni made himself unavailable for the upcoming West Indies tour, as reported by the BCCI official. Dhoni has decided to spend the next two months with his troop. MSD is in the Territorial Army as an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment.

Former Indian cricketer turned politician Gautam Gambhir praised MS Dhoni for taking the decision to serve his nation. He said, this move of MS Dhoni is going to encourage and inspire the youth to join Indian army.


In an interview with ABP news, the former cricketer turned politician termed captain cool’s stint as a fantastic move as it proves his dedication towards the country.

Gautam Gambhir further said, I have said several times that Mahi needs to spend more time with the Indian army. If he has decided to serve the nation and wear that uniform, then Dhoni has definitely proved his dedication.

Dhoni’s magnificent move is going to encourage thousands of young Indian’s to join the Indian Army, Gambhir concluded.

MS Dhoni will take up controlling, patrolling duties with his battalion in Kashmir.
