Bollywood is full of talented actors and many times we have seen that actors who have limited screen time have overshadowed the lead actors of movies, thanks to their sheer brilliance and powerful performance. The latest example is “Animal” in which people are going gaga over Bobby Deol’s performance despite the fact that he has very short screen time in the movie.
In the same manner, there have been instances when supporting actors have made a more or equal impact in the movie in comparison to or similar to the lead actors and we are listing few of them here:
1. Paresh Rawal (Baburao in Hera Pheri):
Baburao is one of the most popular characters of Bollywood and watching him on the screen brings a smile on the face even if you have watched the movie countless times earlier. Paresh Rawal did a great job in that role and made his presence felt despite having Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty in the movie as well.
2. Arshad Warsi (Circuit in Munna Bhai series):
Arshad Warsi may have played the sidekick to Sanjay Dutt in the Munna Bhai series but Arshad played the role so brilliantly that now nobody can imagine a Munna Bhai movie without Circuit.
.3 Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Chand Nawab in Bajrangi Bhaijaan):
The character of Chand Nawab was inspired from a real-life journalist from Pakistan and it won’t be wrong to say that Nawaz played it in the best manner.
4. Rajkummar Rao (Pritam Vidrohi in Bareilly ki Barfi):
Playing the timid and confident character in the same scene with complete ease depicts the acting prowess of Rajkummar Rao. Though he played a supporting role in the movie, he increased the importance of the character with his impeccable acting.
5. Varun Sharma (Choocha in Fukrey):
Choocha was shown as a comic character in the movie but Varun Sharma played it so beautifully that now audiences flock to cinema halls just for him.
6. Saif Ali Khan (Langda Tyagi in Omkara):
It was Saif Ali Khan’s pure acting talent that he not only made his presence felt in the multi-starrer movie but also made such a long lasting impact that people also talk about his character when they talk about the movie.
7. Siddhant Chaturvedi (MC Sher in Gully Boy):
Though Gully Boy was Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s movie, Siddhant Chaturdevi’s performance was so wonderful that after the release of the movie, he started getting offers for lead roles.
8. Piyush Mishra (Nasir Ahmed in Gangs of Wasseypur):
Gangs of Wasseypur had many talented actors but Piyush Mishra stood apart because of the dominant manner in which he played his character in every scene.
9. Deepak Dobriyal (Pappi Ji in Tanu weds Manu):
One of the finest actors of the present times, Deepak Dobriyal has given many superb performances but his acting in Tanu weds Manu series is at different level. Pappi Ji is one character his fans will remember forever.
10. Vijay Raaz (Ganesh in Run):
Abhishek Bachchan starrer Run was the remake of a south Indian movie and it was rejected by the audiences completely. However, Vijay Raaz’s performance in the film was so brilliant that people remember the character even if they have no idea of the movie.
11. Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Kashibai as Bajirao Mastani):
Though the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali was slammed for distorting historical facts and wrong characterization, still Priyanka’s subtle and elegant performance was applauded.
12. Supriya Pathak (Dhankor in Ram-Leela):
The young generation mostly remembers Supirya Pathak as Hansa of Khichdi fame and seeing her in a negative character was like a cool breeze in a sunny day. She was just brilliant in the role of Dhankor in the movie.
13. Annu Kapoor (Dr. Chaddha in Vicky Donor):
Annu Kapoor effortlessly played the character of a doctor who owned an infertility clinic and was obsessed to a great extent with everything related to his work and human sperm.
14. Saurabh Shukla (Judge Sundar Lal Tripathi in Jolly LLB series):
Saurabh Shukla is one of the finest and most versatile actors of the present times and he made a great impact in both the movies with his effortless performance.
