Irfan was answering questions at an event in Nagpur when he recalled one incident which happened in Lahore and it motivated him more to perform better.

In Lahore, a girl asked Irfan as to why he plays for India and not Pakistan despite the fact that he is a Muslim and his answer will win your heart! The cricketer replied, “It is a matter of pride for me to play for India.”

As per Irfan, this was one of those moments when he was encouraged for even better performances but his most memorable moment was when he got the Indian cap from Sourav Ganguly in 2003 when he debuted against Australia in Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Irfan has played 120 ODIs, 24 T20Is and 29 Test matches for India. The cricketer has taken 301 wickets and scored 1800 runs in addition to a first over hat-trick in 2006, against arch-rival Pakistan.
