Hyderabad cops have arrested a software engineer Rushi Kumar and his parents on the suspicion of killing his 25-yr wife Harika Kumar. Even more shockingly, the reason of her murder is failure of Harika to get admission in MBBS course.

Did Harika set herself on fire?

As per police, on Sunday night, Rushi called Harika’s mother and told her that Harika set herself on fire. The horrific incident took place at LB Nagar’s Rock Town Colony near Hyderabad.

Police suspects it to be a murder:

Harika’s parents have claimed that it is not a suicide but a planned murder and they registered a complaint under harassment for dowry.

ACP (LB Nagar division) Venugopala Rao told,

“Harika’s husband claims she committed suicide, but after we visited the scene, it appears to be a murder. We suspect that the man killed his wife.”

Husband was not happy with her failure & threatened to divorce her:

Harika was trying to clear the medical entrance exam but she failed this time too. However, she was selected for Bachelor of Dental Surgery course in a private college. Her husband Rushi Kumar was not happy with it and threatened to divorce her.

It’s not suicide but a planned murder:

This is what Harika’s mother and sister said,

“Harika and Rushi got married two years ago. He had been harassing her as she didn’t get an MBBS seat. She got (admission in) BDS this year. He also harassed her for dowry… It is a planned murder.”

Venugopala Rao said that only after the autopsy report, it will be clear whether Harika was strangled before she was burnt or not. Rushi is booked and a case has been filed against him under Cr.P.C section 174 for suspicious death.
