I Can Buy My Own IPL Team, If There Is No Team To Play For In IPL 2016 : MS Dhoni

Since the ban of Chennai SuperKings and Rajasthan Royals for straight 2 years from IPL. Everyone has been wondering about the fate of the players who used to play for these teams. The concern is certainly on the zenith because the Captain of Indian ODI and T20 team MS Dhoni who played for Chennai Superkings from the very first season of the league has left the Cricket Universe to wonder who he is going to play for now.

But as per recent reports from BCCI’s end, two new teams shall be introduced in IPL to accommodate the players from the suspended franchises.

On this regard, many investors including MS Dhoni has come up to buy a team that shall feature in 2016 IPL edition. According to reports, MS Dhoni has shown interest in buying an IPL team. Since the base price for buying an IPL team is Rs 40 crore, a businessman from Kolkata Sanjeev Goenka who owns Athletico Kolkata Club in Indian Super League (ISL) has shown interest in buying a team in IPL from any other city than Kolkata.

Apparently, Sourav Ganguly the president of Cricket Association Of Bengal (CAB) urged Sanjeev Goenka to invest in Cricket. If reports are to be believed, both Dhoni and Goenka have contacted BCCI and told the board about their plan of investing in IPL teams. Interestingly, Dhoni has already been backed by Videocon and JSW Steel.

The new teams might come from cities like Ahmedabad, Kanpur or even Indore. The bidding for the team is to be scheduled to happen on December 8th. The day when we’ll get to hear the two new cities that will be included in IPL alongwith their owners.
