The former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is an iconic figure in the Indian cricket, he is the only skipper to win three major ICC trophies and he is also the most successful skipper of the IPL on a joint basis as his team CSK has won the tournament five times under his captaincy.
MS Dhoni has also guided and groomed many Indian cricketers such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, etc. during his captaincy days from 2007 till 2018 and he is still nurturing the young talent in his IPL team Chennai Super Kings.
Deepak Chahar is one such player who has learnt a lot under MS Dhoni’s captaincy and during the IPL 2023, we have seen that both MS Dhoni and Deepak Chahar are quite close to each other.
Recently during the launch event of a Tamil movie, “Let’s Get Married” which is produced by Dhoni’s production house Dhoni Entertainment, Mahi was asked about Deepak Chahar and the former Indian cricketer compared Chahar to drug.
Mahi states that Deepak Chahar is like a drug, if he is there with you, you will think why he is here and if he is not with you, you will think why he is not here, where he is, etc. According to Dhoni, the good thing is that Deepak Chahar is maturing but he is taking time and it seems that Mahi won’t see him getting matured in his lifetime.
Deepak Chahar has played an important role in CSK’s IPL 2023 win but injuries have been a main concern for the cricketer and he needs to work hard on his fitness if he wants to play for a long time.
