The Australian and England cricket teams are clashing against each other in the third test match of the five match Ashes series which is being played at the Headingley Carnegie and if the Aussies manage to win this test match, then they will also win the Ashes series because they have already won the first two test matches.
The English cricketer Jonny Bairstow is constantly making headlines but neither for his batting nor for his wicketkeeping, in the last test match he made news for the manner in which he got dismissed and in the third test match, he caught everybody’s attention after he irritated the Australian batter Steve Smith.
During the 28th over of the Aussie innings which was bowled by Moeen Ali, Steve Smith who is playing his 100th test match gave a simple catch to Ben Duckett. Steve Smith was already angry with himself for playing that shot and he got angrier when Jonny Bairstow said something to him and the Australian batter charged towards the English wicketkeeper but after that, he walked towards the pavilion.
Initially everyone felt that Jonny Bairstow sledged Steve Smith, but Jonny Bairstow only said, “See ya Smudge (Steve Smith’s nickname)”, Steve Smith asked Bairstow, “What was that, mate?!? HEY!” in an angry manner and Bairstow replied with, “I said ‘cheers, see ya later’.”
Here is the video of the incident:

As far as the match is concerned, Australia put up a score of 263 on the scoreboard in their first innings with the help of brilliant knock of 118 by Mitchell Marsh. In response, England could manage only 237 despite a valiant knock of 80 runs by the skipper Ben Stokes. Aussies were 116/4 in their second innings with Travis Head (18) and Mitchell Marsh (17) on the crease before the rain stopped the match.
With 2 days game remaining to be played, it seems that the result will surely come in this match until and unless rain spoils the game.
