Mumbai came to a standstill yesterday due to heavy downpour. There was heavy water logging due to which transport came to a halt, people got trapped midway and this is when other people around the areas came out to help the stuck ones for food and shelter.

If Mumbai’s spirit and help from some religious places didn’t come into play, the situation could’ve turned even more monstrous.

All this while, the state government claimed to provide some relief too. As soon as the situation looked going out of people’s control they initiated the emergency numbers so that anybody in this heavily populated city can call and ask for the help.

But were these numbers helpful? A big No will be the answer. Mirror Now journalist Faye D’Souza tried a couple of helpline numbers during her show publicly and none of the numbers got her any kind of response.

Now, this is a shame for the state government and BMC which has been able to do nothing for the public even in such adverse conditions.

Even though, there was no major support from the government during this time, people were under the impression that they are at least helping in a little way. But after the truth behind BMC’s helpline numbers has been exposed, no words can define the worth of this lazy government. What do you think?
