Indian actors Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla have worked together in quite a few movies such as “Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman”, “Yes Boss”, “Ram Jaane”, “Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani”, “Duplicate”, “Darr”, etc. In fact, it won’t be wrong to say that they were one of the most loved on-screen pairs at one point of time.
Shah Rukh may have established himself as the King of Romance but initially he also played negative characters and surprisingly he got more accolades than the actors who played the role of heroes in those movies.
Yash Chopra directed “Darr” (1993) is one of the biggest hits of Shah Rukh and Juhi Chawla’s career. In this movie, SRK plays the character of an obsessive lover but the girl whom he loves is in love with another person (Sunny Deol) and she gets married to him. SRK’s character wreaks havoc in the lives of the couple but finally the hero ki*ls the villain.
One dialogue of the movie got so popular that it became an iconic one; yes we are talking about Shah Rukh Khan’s dialogue , “I love you KKK Kiran”.
During an event, Juhi Chawla revealed from where SRK got the idea to stammer while saying that dialogue. She said that she was not much observant but SRK was and he observed that Yash Chopra used to stammer a little. As per Juhi, SRK told Yash Chopra that he would pick stammer for the movie and Juhi says that she is thankful that SRK did it.
During an old interview, Shah Rukh said that he had a discussion with Aditya Chopra (who was assistant director in “Darr”) about stammering in the film and then they did a little research to understand the mindset of those who stammer. They came to know that people who stammer, their minds become aware of one sound and it is like a sharp current because of which they have problem in saying the word.
He further said that when they had discussion with Yash Chopra about stammering in the movie, Aditya Chopra suggested that he should be aware of the name of the girl that was Kiran because of which he used to stammer only while speaking her name.
Well, that was really interesting to know.
