Whenever, an Aamir Khan, Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan flick hits the screens, few records are bound to be broken. Something similar happened with Raees too; in the first 5 days itself, it broke few records. After a big movie like “Dangal”, people had huge expectations from Raees. 1. No movie has earned so much money on Republic Day as Raees did!

On the opening day, makers had huge expectations from the movie in terms of collections. But since it was a weekday (Wednesday), everything depended on Republic day (Holiday). The SRK starrer collected 26.30 crores on 26th of January, and it is the highest earning on any Republic day so far.

2. Beat FAN’s lifetime collections in 5 days itself

FAN holds a lifetime collections of 84 crores. However, Raees beat this figure with great ease in the first 5 days itself.

3. Highest opening weekend collection (Clash period)

When we talk of Bollywood, clashes are very common. It was expected that the collections of both the movies will suffer to a great extent in event of clash. However, Raees managed to collect 93.44 crores, which is the highest opening weekend collection in the clash period.

4. 3rd highest opener for SRK

This is the 3rd highest opener for SRK; first was Happy New Year with 44.90 crores and 2nd was Dilwale with 21.40 crores.

5. Raees beat Dangal in the US and UK Box office

Raees beat Dangal in terms of collections in the US and UK box office. In UK, Dangal earned £121,000 from 152 locations while Raees earned £126,000 from 90 locations. In the US, Raees earned $375,000 from 275 locations while Dangal earned $328,227 from 331 locations.
