For the past few days, Internet and social media sites are filled with the news and updates regarding Akshay Kumar-Mallika Dua controversy and a lot is said and done by the concerned people in this connection so far.
It all started with Akshay Kumar saying, “Mallika ji aap bell bajao, main aapko bajata hoon” in an episode of the reality show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge”. This was unacceptable or rather objectionable on the part of both Mallika and her father Vinod Dua who thrashed the “Baby” actor in a Facebook post. However, the matter worsened after people dragged Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna and their little daughter Nitara into the controversy.
There is no denying the fact that involving Nitara provoked Twinkle to speak up. She defended her husband and cracked some lame jokes on Mallika and her father; however, she later realized her mistake and posted an apology letter on Facebook which was definitely a very sensible step on her part.
Twinkle wrote,
“So when in this latest episode regarding my husband, my five-year-old was also dragged in for something that she had absolutely nothing to do with, I reached breaking point. And with my protective instincts in overdrive, I reacted irrationally with the only tools I have that help me retain my sanity in this fishbowl existence -words and lame jokes -though they have got me into trouble often enough in the past as well.”
Netizens praised Twinkle Khanna for this step and everyone was keen to know Mallika’s response to this apology letter. And she finally did!
Yes, Mallika took to the micro-blogging site and wrote, “That’s the thing about parents. They are protective of their children whether they are 5 or whether they are 28”

Mallika certainly made a point when she said that parents do get panic and react when it’s about their children and her father did the same.
