Manmarziyan, Mitron & Love Sonia 1st Day Collections Out. This Movie Won The Race

Just like the previous week, this Friday also brought many options for movie lovers with the release of “Manmarziyan”, “Mitron” and “Love Sonia”.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, “Manmarziyan” stars Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. It’s more like a love triangle movie and if you have watched “Dev D”, there are chances that you find a few similarities between both the flicks. Taapsee and Vicky have done fantastic jobs and they stay in your mind even after you leave the theatre. The first half of the film is superb but the second one is not as strong; nevertheless, some tracks like Daryaa and Halla are simply amazing.

“Manmarziyan” has got a slow start and minted Rs 3.52 crore on the first day; however, these figures are expected to improve significantly during the weekend. What’s more, it has earned the highest amount of all the three movies released this week and is surely having a lead in terms of box-office collections.

Here’s what trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted,

“#Manmarziyaan has a low Day 1… Started on a dull note in the morning, but picked up towards evening… North circuits were better… Biz will scale upwards on Sat and Sun [a norm these days], but real test will be on weekdays… Fri ₹ 3.52 cr. India biz.”

Nitin Kakkar’s “Mitron” starring Jackky Bhagnani and Kritika Kamra earned Rs 50 lakh according to BOI on its opening day.

Set in Ahmedabad, the movie is based on relations and friendship. It does have appeal and although it couldn’t do a great business on the first day, it is expected that word of mouth will help figures get better in the weekend.

Tabrez Noorani’s “Love Sonia” that features actors like Rajkummar Rao, Richa Chadda, Anupam Kher, Freida Pinto, Manoj Bajpayee and a newcomer Mrunal Thakur couldn’t drag audience to theatres and collected just Rs 25 lakhs on the first day, as per BOI. The movie exposes horrors of flesh trade and is allegedly based on true incidents.
