Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor is very much active on social media, especially the micro-blogging site Twitter, and often makes headlines for his tweets which can be hilarious, sarcastic or ironic in nature. However, he has gone too far this time with sarcasm and for the same, a written complaint has been registered against him with the Mumbai Cyber Police.
It so happened that the actor posted an offensive photo of a naked child with a headphone stuck into his private parts. He deleted the tweet just within a day but the damage was done. Adil Khatri, an advocate as well as Jai Ho Foundation’s general secretary, filed a complaint against him.
Jai Ho Foundation is an NGO which has been registered under Maharashtra’s Women and Child Development Department. Here’s what Adil Khatri told indianexpress.com,
“We have filed a complaint with Mumbai Police Commissioner, Mumbai Cyber Cell and Ministry of Woman and Child Development against actor Rishi Kapoor for posting nude and pornographic image of a child on his Twitter account @chintskap.”
The advocate is of the opinion that the actor needs to be taught a lesson. He further said,
“We don’t know who the child in the picture is, but it is offensive as the child is naked and a headphone has been stuck into his private parts.”
The initial reports in the matter suggested that an FIR was lodged by Jai Ho Foundation; however, cops later made it clear that they didn’t file any case. The NGO registered a written complaint with Mumbai Police and they forwarded it to the Cyber police station. A senior officer confirmed about getting a written complaint but at the same time, alleged that no FIR was filed.
Jai Ho Foundation’s President Afroz Malik stated this in the complaint,
“We would request you to immediately register an FIR against actor Rishi Kapoor under relevant sections of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) and IT Act for posting indecent, nude and vulgar picture of a minor child on his Twitter account @chintskap.”
He further said,
“Rishi Kapoor has more than 2.6 Million followers on Twitter account. This means this pornographic image material got circulated to more than 2.6 Million people. There are more than 66 retweets and 476 likes as of now on this indecent image.”
Some websites are circulating this clip, citing it to be the reason of the complaint; however, the actor posted this video after the complaint!
