OMG!! Facebook Seems To Be Worried As Users Aren’t Sharing Personal Stuff!

Facebook Inc is already working for combating a decline in people sharing personal and original content, a fuel which helps in powering the money machine at the center of its social network.
Facebook says that overall the sharing is ‘strong’. However, people stated that they are less willing to post their personal updates as there is growth of friend list.

Instead, 1.6 billion users of Facebook are posting information and news from other websites. As Facebook is aging, users have too many acquaintances added as their friends. People aren’t comfortable always to check into a local bar and share an update as they feel these updates aren’t relevant to the connections.

Mark Zuckerberg seems to be worried!

As per one person, employees of Facebook have termed this decline in intimacy as ‘context collapse’. There has been a shift in personal sharing to small audiences on Instagram, Snapchat or other messaging services. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO has spoken at staff meetings about the need for inspiring personal sharing, said the people.
Several tactics have been tried out by Facebook for encouraging these posts, such as a feature ‘On This Day’ which launched last year which brings up memories since past years which users wish to talk again. Facebook also prompts users for posting the most recent photographs and recently accessed contents.

There was a 21 percent drop in the original sharing of personal stories around mid-2015. This week, another move was made by the company for making it easy to post as it introduced a live video tool so that all users of Facebook can use. On Tuesday, Zuckerberg did a video address to the users so that they are encouraged to post live video of whatever they wish to. This was watched by over 5 million people.
