Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar have been sharing a strong bond for over thirty years, both on and off the screen. Known for their memorable roles together in several popular films, their friendship stands as a rare example of lasting camaraderie in the film industry.
In a recent interview, Paresh Rawal openly supported Akshay Kumar amidst ongoing criticism about his frequent film appearances and fast-paced career. He brushed off any ideas of professional jealousy, saying that he recognises Akshay Kumar’s unique qualities — from his action skills to his strong screen presence. According to Paresh, Akshay Kumar’s honesty, hard work and family values make him not just a good actor but also a trustworthy and genuine person to be around.
Having worked together in more than 20 movies, Paresh Rawal shared that acting with Akshay Kumar has always been an enjoyable experience, where money becomes secondary to the joy of collaboration. He also expressed frustration with those who question Akshay Kumar’s decision to work on multiple projects each year. Paresh Rawal questioned Akshay Kumar’s critics as to why they have a problem with him working in many movies as he is not selling drugs or alcohol, he is not gambling or involved in any other illegal activity. Paresh pointed out that producers willingly cast Akshay Kumar because they trust his ability to deliver and draw audiences.
He further emphasised that Akshay Kumar’s work should be seen for what it is — consistent and sincere effort. Paresh argued that instead of being judged, Akshay Kumar should be appreciated for providing entertainment and creating job opportunities through his films. In his view, there’s nothing wrong with someone who simply loves to work hard and stay productive.
Paresh Rawal has certainly made a valid point and Akshay’s critics really need to listen to him.
