This Post From An Iranian Girl After She Was Denied Entry To America Will Surely Make You Feel Sad!

America is a country that used to happily host immigrants from almost every part of the world. The sad part of the above statement that America ‘used to’ and after the ban, situation in America has only worsened further. People who were out of their country for meeting their parents or relatives or were out for some other work are now left stranded in the middle of nowhere.

The immigration ban imposed by Trump with immediate effect has affected many lives and has arguably become the most cruel decision from the American government in recent times. In a bid to outsmart rising terrorism in America, Trump came up with a decision to ban immigrants from seven nations, mostly with a Muslim dominated population.

Just like many other Iranians, Zinour, a PhD professor at the Clemson University, who was living in the US from past seven years was affected badly by Trump’s Immigration ban. She had been to Iran to visit her parents. As soon as rumours about the immigration ban started surfacing, she packed and left back for US but failed to get back on time and was thus denied an entry.

She was not going to hold back and thus took to Facebook to express all her grief and sorrow. In a long post she described how hard she tried to get back but failed.

Here’s the post;

The post read

“I normally don’t write long posts or any kind of political or religious comments.
I apologize in advance and I don’t expect my friends to read this long long past!!
But today I just couldn’t hold it any longer. Friday 1/20/17 started like any other normal day. I was excited about my trip to Tehran. After all I only get to visit them once a year. I was excited and anxious at the same time. I was worried about my little puppy but I couldn’t wait to see my mom…

It was an uneventful trip. I made him home on Monday 1/22/17, after around 28 hours, exhausted but so so happy. We were all happy. I was going to eat lots of delicious Persian food and make tons of great memories and go back to my life in the US. But the happiness didn’t last that long. On Wednesday, we started hearing rumors about new executive orders that will change immigration rules for some countries including Iran. Soon we started reading drafts like everyone else. I might be banned from going back?!?! No that can’t be true. I’m not gonna let that ruin my trip. But then it got serious so fast. Before I knew it, it was actually happening. Even though I didn’t want to leave my family, I quickly booked a ticket to get on the next flight back. Only a few hours after the order was signed, I got to the airport, got on a plane and made it to Dubai. After waiting in the line to get my documents checked and after 40 minutes of questions and answers, I boarded the plane to Washington, only to have two TSA officers getting in and ask me to disembark the plane!!! Yes after almost 7 years of living the the United States, I got deported!!!

A majority of Americans however stand against this ban and are staging massive protests in every part of America. From celebrities to normal citizens everyone has joined hands to oppose this immigration ban imposed by Trump. There is a small group of people supporting Trump’s decision too but their numbers are quite insignificant. Zinour and almost every other person affected by this decision can take heart from the protests going on and can believe in making a comeback to their beloved America.

The protests staged by the people of America has indeed shown that humanity won’t bow down so easily. However, the hardships faced by Zinour and every other immigrant from those seven nations is indeed heartbreaking and saddening. We can just hope that the protests bring out some results and the ban gets lifted at the earliest. Do let us know your take on this ban in our comments section below.
