Praising Delhi Govt For Scraping Management Quota? Wait! Check What Twitter Said - RVCJ Media

There is good news for all those parents who are trying their best for nursery admissions as the Delhi Government has decided to let go off the management quota in private schools. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Wednesday that the only quota which will be available now is 25% seats for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).

CM Arvind Kejriwal was speaking in a press conference on the matter of setting rules and guidelines for the process of nursery admissions in private schools. “We have taken a major decision in order to make admission process in private schools transparent and pro-people,” as stated by the CM.

The private schools have been asked by the Directorate of Education (DoE) to create and adopt a criteria for admission which should be well-defined, equal for all, transparent, clear and non discriminatory; however, Arvind further added, “But we were surprised to see the criteria set by schools for the nursery admission process. Some schools decided to give preference to students whose parents know painting, or music, or have reserved huge quota for a sibling. We have scrapped 62 criteria of admission process in private schools that were unreasonable and discriminatory.”

He criticized the management quota when he said, “Management quota is the biggest scandal which deprives common people. Delhi government is passing an order to abandon management quota. If the school managements object, the government will go to court.”
