Rajesh Khanna is said to be the first superstar of Bollywood, he was loved a lot by the Indian movie fans and every film of Rajesh Khanna used to be a superhit at the box-office. However, he was not able to cope up with the failures when his movies stopped working at the box-office and filmmakers stopped giving him lead roles.
Recently, the veteran actor Prem Chopra gave an interview in which he opened up on the comparison between Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. He said that Amitabh Bachchan is an intelligent and a punctual actor; though Rajesh Khanna was also a magnificent actor, he had the habit of being late on the sets. Prem Chopra said that Rajesh Khanna used to reach the shooting location only after everyone used to get ready for the shooting and not every moviemaker was able to bear this habit of being late.
The veteran actor stated the producers used to ask Rajesh Khanna to have lunch before starting the shooting and Khanna also used to ensure that he completed all the work of the day before leaving.
According to Prem Chopra, Rajesh Khanna was not ready to take up roles other than the roles of leading actor and he used to live in the same manner even after his movies failed at the box-office. Prem Chopra said that Rajesh Khanna had to face the downfall because he was not able to face the fact that he needed to change with passing time.
Prem Chopra praised Amitabh Bachchan for understanding this fact because of which he started doing character roles and even today, he is very busy. Prem stated that sometimes he is surprised to see that Amitabh Bachchan is busier than his young days and he is working not only in movies but on TV as well and at the same time, he is pretty active on social media as well. Prem Chopra opined that if Rajesh Khanna had got ready to do character roles, then he also must have got some great roles.
Prem Chopra is mostly known for negative roles that he has done in movies and out of 380 films that he has done, he has worked with Rajesh Khanna in 19 and most of them are big hits at the box-office.
