Gujarat is gearing up for elections soon so it is obvious that all the political parties won’t be leaving any stone unturned in campaigning for elections. However, during these rallies, several unpleasant events take place and political rivals try to use them for their own benefit.
During a rally on December 1 which was addressed by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, a tribal woman tried to meet the CM but she was stopped by police officials. The local police was aware of the woman as she has been staging protest for last many years, alleging that the government hasn’t fulfilled the promise of giving them a piece of land after her father Ashok Tadvi, a BSF personnel, was martyred.
Her name is Rupal Tadvi (26) and as the CM was addressing the rally, she suddenly stood up and ran towards the stage shouting,
“I want to meet him..I want to meet him.”
She was stopped by the female police officers and the CM announced, “I will meet you after this programme”; however no meeting has taken place, as per the local officials.
A police officer told,
“The family claims that the land promised by the government after the death of Ashok Tadvi has not been allotted. They have been protesting for long and we have to keep an eye on them.”
A video showing Rupal trying to get rid of the hold of police officials is going viral. Congress Vice-President has slammed the CM and BJP government for not fulfilling the promise and insulting the daughter of a martyr.
Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Patriot Rupani ji made (partymen) throw out the daughter of a martyr and has shamed humanity. The family got hollow promises instead of justice for 15 years.”
