The ICC T20 World Cup is getting exciting with each passing day as we have already seen few close and thrilling matches such as India – Pakistan clash which was played on 23^rd Oct 2022 in which India defeated its arch-rival in the nail-biting encounter. However, there were times when the cricket fans got disappointed because rain played spoilsport in the tournament.

Earlier, it was predicted that there were 90 percent chances of rain during the India-Pak clash but fortunately it didn’t happen but South Africa and Zimbabwe had to share one-one point each as their match was called off due to rain. It is quite obvious that Duckworth-Lewis method (DLS) will also come into play in the tournament because of rain and one of the biggest upsets happened when Ireland was declared as the winner of the match which it played against England. The match between New Zealand and Afghanistan also got washed off because of rain and both the teams were given 1-1 point each.

The cancellation of matches is certainly making fans very unhappy and they are expressing their annoyance on the micro-blogging site Twitter but some of them are also using their creativity and making funny memes. Some online users have also slammed ICC for making a mistake in regard to venue while organizing the tournament.

The Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also talked about the weather on his YouTube channel and as per him, the weather in Melbourne was intensely cold for playing a cricket match because of which he was facing problem while bowling as his hand was getting numb and it was difficult for him to get the grip on ball.

This is certainly something which should have been taken care of while deciding the venue or the timing should have been different. Let’s just hope that rain doesn’t affect the tournament further and we can witness a good tournament.
