The making of Andaz Apna Apna was filled with laughter, pranks and some unexpected moments. Raveena Tandon recently opened up about her equation with Karisma Kapoor while appearing as a special guest on a dance show. Raveena and Karisma shared several memories from the sets of the iconic film. They recalled how the cast often had fun while shooting and how their mutual love for cinema eventually helped them overcome their differences.

During the episode, host Harssh Limbachiyaa asked the actresses whether they used to laugh while shooting the film. Raveena Tandon revealed that laughter was a regular part of their shoot. She remembered that even during serious scenes, she would sometimes struggle to control her laughter. She specifically recalled a scene involving a kidnapper demanding a huge amount of money while Aamir Khan was on the phone, where she could be seen laughing in the background.
Raveena Tandon also spoke about the unusual equation among Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and her. According to her, the four actors were not always on talking terms despite working together. However, their respect for filmmaking and their shared passion for cinema helped them put their differences aside and work together as a team. She then recalled one incident that helped her and Karisma become more comfortable with each other.

During a night shoot, the two actresses had a scene in which they were tied back-to-back to a pillar. They remained tied from around 9 PM until 5 AM. During a dinner break, they were still tied up and were already tired after the long shoot.
Raveena Tandon recalled that the male members of the team decided to play a prank on them. Everyone announced that it was dinner break and left the two actresses tied up. The team members reportedly stayed nearby and watched the situation quietly before eventually clearing the entire floor, leaving Raveena and Karisma alone.

With no one around to help them, the two actresses repeatedly asked to be untied. While waiting, Raveena Tandon finally started a conversation by asking Karisma Kapoor if she wanted some juice. Karisma agreed and also mentioned that she was hungry. That simple exchange eventually led to the two actresses talking to each other, helping break the ice between them.
Karisma also remembered shooting the song ‘Ye Raat Aur Ye Doori’, which was filmed at Mehboob Studio. It was one of the early sequences where all four lead actors came together.
She recalled that Aamir, Salman, Raveena and she were all relatively new to the industry at the time and were nervous while working with director Rajkumar Santoshi. Despite the pressure, shooting the comedy song became a lot of fun for the entire cast.

Karisma Kapoor explained that the song was challenging because the actors had to maintain its fast pace while also delivering the comedy, keeping the energy high and maintaining the flow of the sequence. She praised the timing of the comedy scenes and said that everyone was deeply involved in the work while still enjoying the experience.
For Karisma, Andaz Apna Apna ultimately became an important learning experience and remains one of the memorable films from the early stages of their careers.
