Even after years of playing international cricket together, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli continue to share a strong understanding at the crease. Rohit has now revealed how the two veterans communicate when they are batting together.
Rohit and Kohli have already retired from T20Is and Tests and now play only ODIs, appearing for India once every 2-3 months. The two are currently part of a three-match ODI series against the West Indies.
Despite questions surrounding their fitness, both the experienced batters have continued to contribute with the bat and put those concerns aside through their performances.
Speaking in a show, Rohit Sharma explained that their conversations while batting are mostly about managing the innings. They discuss which bowler or situation to attack, when to take singles and how to rotate the strike. Rohit also said that if he feels any discomfort while running, he informs Virat Kohli so that they can adjust accordingly.
According to Rohit Sharma, this kind of communication has been a regular part of their partnership throughout their careers. He added that their understanding and conversations at the crease have remained largely unchanged from the time they first started playing together.
The possibility of the two veterans featuring in the 2027 ODI World Cup has also become a topic of discussion among fans and experts. However, Rohit Sharma said he does not need to discuss the tournament with Virat Kohli.

Rohit pointed out that Kohli has played international cricket for many years and already understands what a World Cup means. Whether it is the 2027 World Cup or the 2023 edition, there is no need to explain its importance to him.
Rohit Sharma also highlighted Virat Kohli’s experience, noting that among the current Indian team, he believes Kohli has played the most World Cups.
