There are several problems with Bollywood films since last few years for which the industry is facing huge losses.
The rate of Flops is increasing year by year and distributors and exhibitors are crying with pain.

Earlier, big stars like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan & Aamir Khan guaranteed Blockbusters but this year first two of them failed and Aamir Khan didn’t have any film.
Although, Salman Khan is all set to end the year on a high note with Tiger Zinda Hai the ‘Tubelight’ nightmare is still unforgettable.

Sajid Khan had an interaction with Bollywood Life recently.
When asked about the reasons behind the failure of Tubelight and Jab Harry Met Sejal and is it because audience has started preferring content over superstars, he said-
“Content was always preferred. The statement which I made many years ago, ‘Actors don’t make a film work, they make a film open,’ otherwise no newcomer could ever become a star. A newcomer became a star because people like their film. Even Salman, Aamir and Shah Rukh and Akshay – People liked their first film for them to become a star. The films were higher than them. The content worked. Content is always king. Sholay had content in all retrospect and it had huge stars, though Shaan had bigger stars than content. Though Shaan was not a box office failure but it was not a Sholay. So content will always work. How you present the content, to whom are you presenting the content. To whom are you presenting the content and how are you placing it with the actor involved for his fan base and for extended fan base, all that depends on your film.”

He also talked about the importance of the trailer of film and said that audience makes it mind for the film after watching the trailer. He also quipped that trailer maker should be the third highest paid person on a film, after actor and director.
Well we do agree with his statements as it’s always the right combination that works. Stardom & Content are the two wheels of a cycle called film. If anyone of those two gets punctured, it’s success will be limited.
