After Gurmeet Ram Rahim was sent to jail for 20 years, it was learnt that a search operation will be done in his Dera to get some more leads regarding the matter.
There was a great mystery regarding the famous gufa of Gurmeet and many truths were expected to get disclosed with the search operation. It was alleged that a door of Gurmeet’s gufa leads to the hostel of sadhvis.
A government officials team along with police, paramilitary personnel finally conducted the much-awaited search in the huge Dera premises. Lead by the court commissioner AKS Pawar, the team on Saturday uncovered the tunnel connecting the ground floor of the Dera head’s plush gufa to the hostel. The tunnel, which has four rooms along with attached washrooms, appears self-sufficient.
Haryana deputy director of public relations Satish Mehra told Indian Express-
““We found a window-like path leading from Dera Awas to Sadhvi Niwas. Team is investigating the same.”
He, however, refused to give details like the size and length of the tunnel.
As per TOI report, the team also discovered an illegal firecracker factory in the Dera and seized 84 cartons of crackers. The crackers were being manufactured locally with enough explosive material for large-scale production. Some chemicals used in the production have been seized.
Station house officer Dinesh Kumar told TOI-
“We have booked the unidentified owner of the factory.”
However, this was not the end as the government team also found blank boxes of magazines for AK 47 rifles from inside the Dera.
A source of TOI said constructions like this tunnel may have allowed Gurmeet to continue with his exploitation without being noticed by other followers in the Dera.
